Lindsie Bergevin, a designer for the Statesman newsroom for 11 years, was promoted in May to senior designer.Patrick Davis, designer and graphic artist, retired in May after 25 years at the Statesman. Longtime outdoors writerRoger Phillips left the Statesman after 15 years to take a position as a public information specialist with the Idaho Department of Fish & Game.
Jason Lantz returned to the Statesman in March after two and a half years with the Idaho Housing and Finance Association. Formerly an editor in the newspaper’s sports and news departments, Jason is now the Statesman’s mobile/visuals editor. Darci Goodrich joined the Statesman in May as a copy editor, moving from a position at the Independent Record in Helena, Mont.
IDAHO MOUNTAIN EXPRESS
The Idaho Mountain Express, which publishes twice weekly, has added two new full-time reporters to its staff. Peter Jensen, a graduate of Western Washington University who has worked in newsrooms in California and Washington state, joined the Express news staff in June. Ryan Thorne, a graduate of Boise State University who was an editor for the university’s newspaper and has done freelance work in the Treasure Valley, was hired in July.
In April, the Express welcomed Julie Bramowitz as its new arts editor. Bramowitz previously worked as a features writer and research director for Vogue magazine in New York City.
Terry Smith, formerly crime and education reporter with the Idaho Mountain Express, is now employed as a copy editor and investigative reporter with The Weekly Sun in Hailey.

Dan Greenwood is the new Morning Edition host at KBSX. He joins the station after finishing a graduate degree at University of Colorado Boulder and hosting at KUNC, the NPR station in Greeley, Colo.
Emilie Ritter Saunders was Boise State Public Radio’s digital content coordinator. In May, she returned to her native Montana to work as communications director for State Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau.
Frankie Barnhill joined BSPR as a full-time reporter in January, after previous stints as a freelancer and part-time reporter.

Tim Marsano, who is retiring on July 31 after more than 30 years of U.S. Air Force and Idaho National Guard service.
